LOOKBOOK// Photos by @ima.mermaid
Among all of the clothing/accessory “d.i.y’s” on my *arms length* list to do, patching up a pair of trusty denim shorts was among the top of them. I just love how there is something so 90s about patched denim, whether thats in the form of a denim jacket (another item on the list) or a pair of dungarees. Who knows maybe there is a head-to-toe patched denim outfit in the works?
For the theme of the ‘patches’ I decided on “throwbacks from your childhood” with cartoon inspired characters and the odd ‘carebear’ floating around, with a kawaii (obviously) influence through the choice of colours. Needless to say I have been living in the shorts ever since completing the ‘d.i.y’ and love how they are a statement piece when paired with a simple outfit. I decided to finish the ‘look’ with a few gems on ones face, because I’m currently in the midst of channelling my inner Gwen Stefani – circa 90s era .
P.S I’m off to Wales next week, so I’m not too sure how the ‘blogging’ flow of things will be due to the wi-fi situation. Therefore be sure to stay up to date with my daily musings from the trip with Instagram and twitter.
