The cardigan was once an item I despised, due to the fact that they have a distinctive resemblance to a school uniform. Something I didn’t want to be reminded of…
However, with the recent Parisian style trend and Pinterest showing us that frumpy cardigans are a thing of the past. I wanted to revisit the humble item and give it a new lease of life. On the subject of giving it a ‘new lease of life’ and making it seasonally appropriate I wanted to look at Pinterest for inspo. An idea which I was struck with, whilst on Pinterest, was why not use it as a layering piece? Whether that was with a t-shirt or roll neck and as we are in ‘peak’ layering season I went for the latter.
Subsequently, they have now become an item which I have started to embrace. Its’ feminine qualities and easy styling make it a wardrobe essential. For inspiration look at Sezane and & Other Stories, who are killing in the knitwear category. There are a couple of styles which have caught my eye, although my bank balance might have other ideas.
