John Lewis Westquay Christmas Preview
2019
On Wednesday morning I had the pleasure of popping over to Southampton for John Lewis’s Westquay Christmas Preview. I know it’s only September but now that the weather has gone into full autumn mode and knitwear wearing is in full spring. Christmas if on the horizon. I know for a fact that it will be one to creep up on us, sooner than we think…
The Department
The department itself has been organised into smaller ‘trend’ sections, that all showcase an individual Christmas theme. From the classic traditional reds and golds to (my favourite) the pale pinks and rose golds. There is a theme that pretty much covers everyones tastes. This is to make the Christmas decoration ‘buying experience’ a whole lot easier, as opposed to trying to figure out what decorations go with what. Of course, if you are into an ‘eclectic’ looking tree you can mix and match across all the individual themes. Also each tree designed comes with a ‘recipe card’. The recipe card is a basic run down on the exact decorations needed to replicate one of John Lewis’s stunning trees. This is such a unique idea and I think it will help a bunch of people when choosing decorations for their trees.
Quality Street & Fever Tree at John Lewis
As well as the classic Christmas decor, John Lewis Westquay will be having their very own Quality Street tin customisation section. This is a first for the Southampton store. We were lucky enough to be the first to trial the experience out, and I highly recommend it for the perfect custom tin of chocolates. You first pick out the name you would like to be ‘lasered’ onto your tin lid. I went for my first name, as I think my surname is a bit too long for the customisation! Next you go around with a store representative and pick out which quality streets you would like to fill your tin with. This year they have an exclusive John Lewis flavour called “Crispy Truffle Bite” that actually tastes amazing. You could definitely tell I was a fan from looking at my tin contents…
In addition to the Quality Street section, they will also be bringing in a Fever Tree area too. Fever Tree are the tonic water brand, that are the perfect accompaniment in creating a G and T. The Fever Tree area will be all about finding the perfect gin and tonic accompaniment, in creating a custom Christmas gift.
As you can tell, John Lewis Westquay have a lot to offer this Christmas. From beautiful decorations to fill your house with. To adding that personalised touch to an array of Christmas gifts.
